GWAL
Wichita South continues to roll. Coming off a win over two-time defending state champion Wichita Heights, the Titans finished the week with a 42, 21 win over Wichita East. Kendrian Elliott led South with 13 points and Ericka Mattingly chipped in 10. Kimirra Lee led East with 8 points.
Heights bounced back from having a 56-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday by beating Wichita Southeast 78-32.
Bishop Carroll got a well-rounded scoring effort to beat Wichita West 56-17. Madi Youngers led the Golden Eagles with 9 points, with Shelby Lopez and Maddie Oxler scoring 8 each. Huter Hogan and Hannah Schauf scored 7 points each for Carroll. West was led by Jamisha Bonner’s game-high 14 points.
Kapaun Mt. Carmel picked up a win against Wichita Northwest, beating the Grizzlies 63-25. Hannah Lienhard led the Crusaders with 14 points, with Sam Bachrodt adding 12 and Molly McAuliffe coming up with 10 points on the night. Northwest was led by Cassidy Harbert’s 5 points.
AVCTL Div. I
Salina South took care of Hutchinson 52-27 and Salina Central fought off Derby 51-42.
AVCTL Div. II
Andover Central had an offensive outburst, beating Arkansas City 81-32. Five Jaguars finished with double-digit scoring, with Masen Stamp’s 20 points leading the team. Meg Huelskamp had 17 for Central, Amanda Kakaelius had 13, Justyce Perez had 11, and Evan Stamp scored 10. Kaitlyn Potter had a nice game for the Bulldogs with 15 points.
Goddard Eisenhower picked up a big cross-town victory over Goddard, beating the Lions 37-28. Kilah Hoenscheidt, Brynn Minor, and Megan Teufel scored 8 points each to lead the Tigers. Emily Rausch had a 9-point night for Goddard.
AVCTL Div. III
Freshman sensation Jessica Steffen tallied 22 points for Buhler to help the Crusaders get a 57-47 win over Mulvane. Josie Williams added to the cause with a 16-point, 12-rebound double-double. Taryn Torgerson finished the night with 12 points for Buhler. Aubree Burkhart had 17 points for the Wildcats and Elise Gerlach had 15.
AVCTL Div. IV
Clearwater held Collegiate at bay with a 38-26 win over the Spartans.
CKL
Hesston keeps on winning with a 68-24 win over Halstead. The Swathers were led by Ashley Weaver with 15 points, and Caylee Richardson had 14. Megan Voth had 12 points for Hesston. Sydney Beat led the Dragons with 11 points.
Hillsboro flexed its might with a 61-16 win over Nickerson. Sterling beat Kingman 56-31, and Pratt hung a 47-15 score on Smoky Valley.
CPL
Wichita Trinity used a monster second half to get a 53-36 win over Cheney. The teams were knotted at 24-24 at the half, before Trinity outscored the Cardinals 29-12 in the second half. Shiloh Miller and Caroline Zielke had 10 points each for the Knights. Carlea Holt led Cheney with 14 points.
Douglass picked up a narrow win over rival Belle Plaine, beating the Dragons 43-40. Zoey Green led the Bulldogs with 17 points and Bailey Nispel had 11. Danielle Balzer and Ciarra Myers had 12 points each for Belle Plaine, and Brittany Balsters had 10.
Conway Springs beat Medicine Lodge 44-30.
HOA
Berean picked up a 34-20 win over Inman. The Warriors were led by Xannie Quiring with 17 points and Carrie Unruh scored 11. Inman had a 10-point night from Abby Ropp.
Kaylee Schunn’s 15 points helped Remington to a 45-31 win over Bennington. Aubreale Favors led Bulldogs with 10 points.
Ell-Saline won big, 49-10 over Canton-Galva.
WAC
Garden City got a boost from Johna McClelland’s 16 points to get a 49-31 win over Hays. Taryn Tempel had a big night for the Buffaloes as well with 11 points. Katelyn Schumacher had a good night for Hays with 14 points.
Great Bend beat Dodge City 49-35.
Non-League
Andover picked up a 58-35 win over Campus, while Augusta nipped Rose Hill 40-35. Andale routed Hutchinson Trinity 65-22, and Circle edged Sedgwick 33-27.
