Last year’s league champion Garden Plain is picked by the coaches to once again take home a league title.
Last season the Central Plains League saw the usual battle at the top. Garden Plain nipped Conway Springs during the regular season in a wild contest. But the Cardinals got revenge and then some, dominating the Owls in the playoffs on the way to another state championship.
But there were also some stirring from the rest of the league. Of the ten schools, five CPL teams made the state playoffs in 2011. Joining Conway Springs and Garden Plain was Medicine Lodge, Douglass, and for the first time in school history, Bluestem.
