After a 10-2 season in the Ark Valley Chisholm League Division II, and a fourth-place finish in the 5A state tournament, Goddard led the way in the 2012 All-League baseball selections.
With 11 All-League players, including five first teamers, the Lions had one more honoree than Andover, who ended with 10 players on the list. Goddard coach Steve Sheahon was honored as the Coach of the Year, in his first year at the helm after Tom Campa moved across town for Eisenhower. Shortstop Austin White was named Player of the Year after a stellar season with the Lions. Nine of Goddard’s All-League spots are filled with seniors, leaving many spots for underclassmen to fill in next spring.
Andover Central and Arkansas City both landed six players on the list. Both the Jaguars and the Bulldogs had three players on the first team. Valley Center landed a pair on the first team and Eisenhower landed a first team nod in its first year.
