Mid-season tournament action has come to a close across the state with several girls finals wrapping up today.

Berean Academy
Berean Academy jumped out to a 17-8 lead after the first quarter and never looked back, cruising to a 47-33 win over Hutch Central Christian. The Warriors were led by Mallory Zuercher with 18 points and Libby Witte with 11. Jamie Patrick and Michaela Ensz each finished with 10 points for the Cougars. (Recap)

El Dorado Tournament:

Mill Valley cruised through the El Dorado tournament, capping off the weekend with a commanding 60-18 win over Wichita Collegiate in the championship game. The Jaguars dominated the field, winning by an average of 35.3 points per game over the three days. Tanner Trip paced the way with 18 points on Saturday, followed closely by Stephanie Lichtenauer with 16. Eledria Franklin led Collegiate with nine points.

Emporia Tournament:
Megan Balcom drained seven three-pointers as second-ranked Olathe South knocked off No. 4 Maize, 56-49. Leading by one at the break, Olathe South outscored the Eagles 17-11 in the third quarter en route to a seven-point win. Balcom led the Falcons with 21 points. Jurnee Reid scored 17 points for Maize and Keiryn Swenson finished with 16. (Recap)

Haven Tournament:
Moundridge trailed 10-8 at halftime, but used a second half surge to take down Conway Springs 39-33 in the Haven Tournament finals. Tiffany Fisher led the rally with a game-high 11 points. Brooke Holloway and Michelle Schrag each scored 10. Alyssa Smith finished with 10 points for the Cardinals. (Recap)

Lawrence Free State Tournament:
Bishop Carroll fell just short in the finals, losing to host Lawrence Free State 54-50. Jordyn Miller scored a game-high 23 points for the Eagles behind an 11-of-12 performance from the free throw line. Jana Reichenberger added 18 in the loss. Kenndey Kirkpatrick led the way for Free State with 14 points, followed by Lynn Robinson with 11.


McPherson Tournament:
Hays' bid to knock off a third straight undefeated team fell short on Saturday as McPherson claimed the title with a 52-42 win. The Indians jumped out to a fast start and led by a point at the break. Hailey Ruder fueled the comeback as the Bullpups outscored Hays 20-6 in the third quarter and held on for a 10-point win. McPherson won their tournament for the first time since 2007 behind 17 points from Ruder and 15 from Katelyn Loecker. Paige Lunsford finished with a game-high 21 points for the Indians. (Recap)

Mulvane Tournament:
Wellington grabbed a four-point halftime lead and carried the momentum into the second half, taking down Garden Plain 39-33. Dani Anderson finished with a team-high 14 points for the Crusaders. The Owls were led by Sierra Hays with 14 and Noelle Dooley with 10. (Recap)

Newton Tournament:
Olathe Northwest used a narrow lead and long offensive sets to edge Newton 46-42 in the title game. Clinging to a 3-point lead with 5:30 left in the game, the Ravens went into a four corners offense to keep the ball away from the Railers. Still, the home team had a chance in the final seconds. Newton closed gap to two points with under a minute left and forced a turnover on the following possession. Maddie Pendry's three-point shot with five seconds left fell just short of giving the Railers the tournament crown. (Recap)

Pratt Tournament:
Behind a 21-point performance from Aubrey Hoover, Pratt claimed the Tournament of Champions crown with a 40-29 win over St. John-Hudson. Teresa Wade scored 15 for the Tigers and Morgan Osborne added 10.

Sedgwick Tournament:
Remington jumped out to a 9-1 lead after the first quarter and held off a late push from Hutch Trinity to take home the title in a 41-32 victory. Jessi Green led the way with 16 points. Konner Brening finished with 12 points for Hutch Trinity. (Recap)

Topeka West Tournament:

Wichita Heights remained undefeated with a 71-47 dismantling of Blue Valley in the title game. The Falcons turned a two-point lead after the first quarter into a 27-16 halftime lead, outscoring Blue Valley 20-7 in the second quarter. Katie Palmer led the Falcons with 22 points. Taylor Chandler finished with 19 and Jada Lynch added 12 as Heights moved to 12-0 on the season.
