After tonight only two regular season games remain for girls basketball and then the tournament begins. The Catch-All recaps tonight's games and provides a peek at how local teams are doing just before the tournament begins.
GWAL
Wichita East takes care of Wichita West 60-39. The Aces improve to 8-10 on the season.
The Golden Eagles outshine the Golden Buffalo as Bishop Carroll defeats Wichita Southeast by 31 at 59-28.
Wichita South stays dominant in the city league holding Wichita North to only six rebounds in the entire game. The Titans were overwhelming as they pounded the Redskins 43-9.
The Heights Falcon survive Wichita Northwest, 56-49. Heights is 13-4 overall and 10-3 in the GWAL.
AVCTL
The Panthers from Derby trounce the Salthawks 62-49 moving to 8-10 in regular season play. Hutchinson falls to 5-12 allowing 53 points per game but only scoring 39 points per game of their own.
Newton eventually derails the Colts. The Railers were down early but took control late in the first quarter, never looking back and defeating Campus 43-27.
Salina Central wins in an absolute thriller against their rival Salina South. Brooke Peters sinks a buzzer beating three point shot winning the game for the Mustangs, 31-29.
Valley Center destroyed Arkansas City 69-29. The Hornets improve to 11-6 with a league record of 6-3.
Andover Central went on a scoring spree and ran the Mavericks out of the gym. The Jaguars blew out Maize South 86-50. Andover is now 13-5 on the year and 8-2 in league play.
Andover battled through the Tigers escaping from Eisenhower High School with a win, 62-42. The Trojans are now 13-4 and have nine wins in the AVCTL but only one loss.
Buhler hands El Dorado it's 13th loss of the season and keeps the Wildcats win-less in the third division of the AVCTL. The Crusaders beat El Dorado 56-32 and grab their 10th win of the season.
McPherson outpaced the Wildcats by 17 points in their division match-up. The Lady Bullpups are now 14-3 and remain undefeated in league play at 7-0.
The Vikings blast past the Rockets with an 11 point, 41-30, victory. Winfield's victory over Rose Hill gives them their second win in the AVCTL and their sixth win overall.
Clearwater nabs a 12 point victory over the Thunderbirds and win their 12th game of the year. The Indians defeat Circle 46-34.
Wellington proved to be too much for Wichita Collegiate as the Crusaders cruise past the Spartans 64-27. Wellington moves gets their 11th win on the year as Collegiate is halted at four victories.
Central Kansas League
The Central Kansas League games were all one sided blowouts with the closest margin of victory being 27 points.
Haven destroyed Nickerson 57-20.
Hesston dominated Kingman 60-21.
Hillsboro handled Halstead 66-30.
Lyons blew out Smoky Valley 52-25.
Central Plains League
Wichita Independent grabs a comfortable victory over Belle Plaine, 49-34. Independent obtains win number six in the regular season and number two in the CPL.
Wichita Trinity wins decisively over Chaparral 48-31. Trinity is now 13-7 on the year and the Roadrunners were unable to escape their first loss in league play.
Garden Plain wins over Conway Springs 41-32. The Owls receive their 17th victory on the year and stay a perfect 5-0 in the CPL.
Heart of America
Sedgwick skirts past Berean Academy 46-38. The Cardinals win their ninth game this season and their sixth HOA win.
Hutchinson Trinity barely sneaks out of their own gym with a 36-33 victory.
Moundridge sends Ell-Saline packing with a 41-40 win over the Cardinals.
Heart of the Plains
Hutchinson Central Christian's three point 36-33 victory over Burrton gives them their third win this year and the second win in the Heart of the Plains.
Pratt Skyline dominates Norwich 41-18 giving them their first loss in league play and just their second loss all year.
North Central Activities Association
Beloit defeats Salina Sacred Heart 51-47. The narrow victory gives the Trojans at an 8-11 record.
Ellsworth's 13 point victory over Southeast of Saline gives the Bearcats their 11th victory of the year and their sixth win in the NCAA.
Western Athletic Conference
The Garden City Buffalo get outta Dodge City with a commanding 60-38 victory over the Red Demons.
Non-League
Maize flew right over the Goddard Lions without a bite mark to be seen. The Eagles shut down the Lions offense in the fourth quarter holding them to zero points in the final period. It was all Eagles in a 59-17 win that gives Maize their 16th win of the year, they're undefeated in league play.
Cheney blasts Bluestem in a 60-23 victory.
Douglass beats Medicine Lodge 53-48 pushing their win total to 11 and keeping their losses at just seven on the year.
Hays coasts past a struggling Abilene squad 51-30. The Indians win their eighth game this year while the Cowboys lose just their seventh game.
