GWAL
In maybe one of the biggest City League shockers of the year, Wichita East outscored Heights 20-8 in the fourth quarter to beat the Falcons 49-37. Relina Johnson had a huge night for the Blue Aces with 28 points in the game. Adrianna Bowen picked up 18 for Heights and Katie Palmer added 11 in the losing effort.
Wichita South rode the scoring of Kendrian Elliott to get a 53-41 win over Wichita Northwest. Elliott picked up 24 points for South. Cassidy Harbert and Cassie Pauls scored 10 points each for Northwest.
Kapaun cruised to a 61-22 win over Wichita North. Southeast narrowly got by West 53-50.

AVCTL Div. I
Derby picked up a huge win over Salina Central, beating the Mustangs 57-41. Alyxis Bowens had a monster game with 34 points for the Panthers.
Maize had trouble with Campus early and trailed to the Colts at the half. But the No. 2 team in 6A righted the ship and picked up a 56-46 win.
Salina South rolled Hutchinson 64-34.
AVCTL Div. II
In a Division II barnburner, Valley Center outlasted Andover Central in a 44-43 win for the Hornets. The other two league games were not as close with Andover beating Goddard 59-24, and Maize South beating Arkansas City 54-34.
AVCTL Div. III
Rose Hill came to play against Mulvane, but in the end, the Wildcats had a big second half to beat the Rockets 43-33.
Buhler outscored Winfield 23-4 in the first and third quarters combined to beat the Vikings 38-22. Jessica Steffen had 13 points for Buhler with Taryn Torgerson scoring 12 and tacking on 8 rebounds as well. Winfield was led by McKenzie Thiel’s 7 points.
McPherson shellacked El Dorado 52-23.
AVCTL Div. IV
Circle got a challenge from Augusta, but played just enough defense to win a low scoring 36-34 game. Andale beat Wellington 60-31 and Clearwater took out Collegiate 47-30.
CKL
In a huge rivalry game, Hesston outlasted Hillsboro in a 40-37 win for the Swathers. Kelsey Unruh led Hesston with 13 ponts and Cami Richardson added 10 to the cause. Addie Lackey led the Trojans with 16 points. At the Hillsboro Tournament last month, Hillsboro beat Hesston by 18 points.
Lyons had a big fourth quarter against Pratt to beat the Greenbacks 50-44. The Lions outscored Pratt 12-6 in the final quarter. Aubrey Hollinger led Lyons with 20 points. Payton Hoeme led the Greenbacks with 12 points and Stonie Flemming had 11.
Kingman picked up a 34-24 win over Smoky Valley, while Halstead coasted to a 45-23 win over Nickerson. Haven finished with a 49-39 win over Sterling.
CPL
Garden Plain continues to win after 54-33 victory over Wichita Trinity. Cassidy Haukap led the Owls with 12 points and Alli Heimerman chipped in 10. Natasha Johnson had a 22-point night for Trinity, but the rest of the Knights could only add 11 points to her total.
Addie Roe led Medicine Lodge to a 56-41 win over Bluestem. Roe had a team-high 19 points with Cassidy Stimpert hitting double digits with 11. Brandee Oliver led the Lions with 10 points.
Chaparral rolled Belle Plaine in a 63-37 win for the Roadrunners. Taylor Mathes had 11 points for Chaparral and Taylor Ireland had 10. Belle Plaine was led by Kali Ast with a game-high 15 points.
Cheney beat Wichita Independent 55-31
HOA
In a big Heart of America rivalry, Moundridge imposed its will on Inman, beating the Teutons 56-23. Sedgwick took out Canton-Galva 52-24, and Ell-Saline got Remington 59-47.
Berean picked up a hard-fought 39-30 win over Hutchinson Trinity. Xannie Quiring led the Warriors with 10 points. Trinity was led by Brooke Racette’s 14 points.
NCAA
Beloit fought off a Russell comeback to beat the Broncos 46-41. The Trojans were led by Kaley Broeckelman who scored 18 points. Madison Beagley and Chantel Prester scored 10 points each for Russell.
