The end of the regularseason is right around the corner, so teams are playing for a good seed in sub-state tournament. But for one City League school, it was playing for much more.

GWAL

North’s Conner Frankamp is now the all-time City League scoring leader as he scored 37 points in a 52-40 win over Carroll. He tied the record with two free throws and set the record with a pull-up jumper in the lane over three Carroll defenders after going behind his back.

Heights took down a struggling South squad 48-37 behind 14 points from Chris Reed. Kapaun rolled West 79-59. Northwest squeezed out a 68-66 win over Southeast.

AVCTL

Derby’s Taylor Schieber scored 23 points to lead all players in a 54-46 win over Newton. Collegiate ran by Augusta 69-52. Collegiate Riley Kemmer and Elliott Mann both scored 18 points.

Maize dominated Salina South 67-30.Andover Central dismantled Goddard 61-39. El Dorado slipped past Rose Hill 37-30. Winfield was able to send Mulvane packing with a 52-50 loss in the Vikings’ bag. Hutchinson more than doubled up on Ark City 72-31.

Goddard Eisenhower destroyed Valley Center 60-43. Andover had no problems with Maize South 69-52. Salina Central more than doubled up Campus 70-33. Clearwater was able to keep Wellington at arm’s length 51-41.

CKL

Haven Handled Hillsboro 58-35. Halstead sent Pratt packing with a 47-45 loss in its bag. Hesston ran past Smoky Valley 54-31. Kingman slipped past Nickerson 60-54. Sterling pulled away from Lyons 62-57.

CPL

Wichita Trinity left Bluestem with a 65-45 win under its belt. Medicine Lodge walked past Belle Plaine 66-48. Cheney pulled away from Douglass 56-49. Independent pounded Conway Springs 69-58.

WAC

Dodge City pulled away from Great Bend 35-28. Hays beat Garden City 45-36.

HOA

Berean Academy showed rival Remington the door in a 46-33 beatdown. Berean's Dallas Wiebe led all players with points as teammate Loren Pearce dropped 14. Sedgwick's Logan Thompson put 23 points on the board in a 65-64 loss at the hands of Council Grove. Inman trounced Little River 50-37. Moundridge put a whopping on Peabody-Burns 65-22. Hutch Trinity fell to Hoisington 57-35.

NCAA

Republic County rolled Salina Sacred Heart 56-43. Beloit nearly doubled up Minneapolis 63-33. Southeast of Saline destroyed Russell 73-29.

NCKL

Wamego was able to hold on 76-71 against Concordia. Marysville slipped past Chapman 49-47.

Others

Ell-Saline took down Ellinwood 48-45. Thomas More Prep dissected Plainville 73-57. Phillipsburg sent Trego packing with a 77-49 loss. South Gray was too much for Kiowa County 74-71. Wallace County was a 60-53 winner over Leoti.
