The Garden City Buffs secondary shut down the Liberal Redskins dominant passing attack on Friday night.The Buffs win 37-14.

They held Liberal's go-to receiver, Trenton Hammond to under 100 yards. On the Buffs opening drive quarterback Greyson Tempel hit his twin brother, Dustin, on a slant for a 30 yard touchdown reception. That was the only score of the first quarter.

The Buffs hit the ground running in the second quarter. Especially Tempel again on a quarterback keeper to start the second for 15 yards. He dove into the endzone for six more points.

Despite a huge catch by Hammond, Liberal turned over the ball on Garden City's 2-yard-line. A Buffalo fumble gave the ball back to Liberal on the same 2-yard-line. Junior quarterback Britton Abbott punched it in to put them on the board 13-7.

Back to the air attack for Garden City. Tempel had around 450 yards total offense. He connected with Johnathan Duvall for a 27 yard touchdown pass on 3rd-and-11. 19-7 Garden City.

With 49 seconds left in the half Abbott kicked in the two minute drill. He ended the drive with a quarterback keeper and they headed into the locker room 19-14 Buffs.

The Buffs secondary completely shut down the Skins offense in the second half. A fake handoff and on 2nd-and-1 Tempel aired it out to his brother again for a huge gain. A screen pass to Brady Bean gave them six more points. The Buffs rumbled to victory unanswered from Liberal 34-14.
