Both Otis Bison and Central Plains boys are still very much in the thick of the Central Prairie League regular season title. Which made Tuesday night's game so important. So maybe it was nerves, maybe it was good defense, or maybe it was just poor shooting, but both the Cougars and the Oilers struggled to hit shots.

The to teams managed just 16 points combined in the first quarter, with Central Plains holding a 4 point lead. The Oilers managed just 6 points in quarter number two, and the Cougars didn't do much better, scoring just 7. Central Plains lead 16-13 at the break.

Central Plains picked up the offense, all be it just slightly, outscoring the hosts OB 12-9 in the third quarter. The Oilers never really could put the Cougars away, but Otis Bison just couldn't shoot well enough to close the gap. Central Plain hung on for the 40-36 victory over Otis Bison. The Oilers won despite shooting just 34% from the field. Otis Bison shot 43% from the field.

In the girls game, the Lady Oilers also got the road victory. The two teams played toe to toe in the early, but Central Plains, slowly built its lead.
