Cancellations plagued Thursday nights games but Friday's games played out just fine. The Catch-All is going into super-mode tonight bringing you both boys and girls basketball games all-in-one.

 

Boys Basketball Catch-All

GWAL

With Wichita North wrapping up the GWAL title they were already in postseason form against the Pioneers from Wichita West. The Redskins defeated the Pioneers 69-51. Connor Frankamp had only 18 points due in large part to the constant double teams he was seeing from Wichita West.

Wichita Heights edges out Kapaun Mt. Carmel on a last second shot, 47-46. Heights stole the ball off an Kapaun inbounds pass with 9.4 seconds left. Chris Lowe recieved the pass from the post and sunk an open three pointer to give the Falcons a one point edge for the win.

Wichita Northwest gets a three point, 44-41, victory over Bishop Carroll. The win gives the Grizzlies their ninth win of the season and their seventh victory in the GWAL.

Wichita East defeats Wichita Southeast in a, 58-56, thriller. The Aces win on a go ahead shot in the final minutes of the game. The win improves their record to 13-7 on the year and 11-5 in league play.


AVCTL

Maize dominates Newton 57-34. The Eagles finish the regular season 8-12 overall and 7-5 in division one of the AVCTL.

Division two games were slightly more competitive as Maize South just edges the Valley Center Hornets 47-46. The Mavericks earn their second win in league play and their eighth win of the year. Andover Central grabbed a thirteen point, 45-32 victory over the Arkansas City Bulldogs. The Jaguars finish the season with a 16-4 record.

McPherson annihilates Winfield 70-33. The Bullpups end regular season play with a perfect 10-0 league record giving them the AVCTL Div. 3 championship.

Non-League

Andover went into Haysville and earned a 35 point, 64-29 victory over Campus. The Trojans finish the regular season with a 15-5 record overall and an 8-4 record in the AVCTL.

 


Girls Basketball Catch-All

GWAL

Kapaun Mt. Carmel defeats Wichita Heights 55-36. With the win Kapaun Mt. Carmel clinches a share of the GWAl championship title with Wichita South. Wichita East blows out Wichita Southeast 62-33. Wichita North gets its third win of the year and their first league win over Wichita West. Bishop Carroll edges out Wichita Northwest, 52-41. The Golden Eagles' own Shelby Lopez led all scorers with 18 points followed closely by Maddie Oxler's 16 points.

AVCTL

In division one the Lady Eagles from Maize narrowly avoid losing two in a row taking the lead in the final quarter of their game against Newton and winning 40-37. The win gives Maize the AVCTL Division 1 Championship.

Division two played host to Andover Central vs. Arkansas City. The Jaguars ripped apart the Bulldogs 86-24. Maize South's win against Valley Center was much more modest as the Mavericks beat the Hornets 41-28. South's Mariah Suchan dropped 21 points in the win leading all other scorers.

The third divisions only match-up of the night involved McPherson and Winfield and unfortunately for the Vikings McPherson was on it's game. The Bullpups conquered the Vikings 62-25. The McPherson Bullpups are the Div. 3 AVCTL Champions.

Non-League

In the only local non-league game that took place in the weather-shortened week Andover triumphs over the Campus Colts 56-45. The Trojans' 11-1 league record clinches their outright Div. 2 AVCTL Championship.
