Dani started her career with KWCH in Spring of 2011 as a CIK reporter in the Dodge City area. In the summer of 2013 she increased her role with KWCH coming to Wichita as a sports anchor and reporter.
Born in Peoria, Illinois, Dani spent part of her childhood in Melbourne, Australia and grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. She graduated from Oklahoma State University in May 2011 with a B.S. in Sports Media Broadcasting, a B.S. in Broadcast Production and a minor in Zoology. During her time at OSU she did freelance work with ESPN and Fox Sports covering her OSU Cowboys as well as the Oklahoma City Thunder.
She played wide receiver for the Dallas Diamonds for five seasons and retired as a women’s professional football player in 2011 to pursue her career as a sports reporter. Dani proved herself as a team player and competitor earning honors such as team captain, three-time Pro Bowler and 2008 Super Bowl Champion. She also played for the first Women’s USA National team in 2010. Team USA competed in the Women’s World Championship in Stockholm, Sweden and beat Canada in the gold medal game.
Dani says she places God and family first in her life.
“My family is my everything,” she said. “They are my biggest fans and I would not be where I am today without them. I grew up around sports nuts and athletes. I have a younger brother, Ryan, and a younger sister, Taylor. We all competed against each other and made each other better as athletes and as people.”
She was an active member of her church in Fort Worth and Dodge City and hopes to continue her spiritual journey here in Wichita.
Dani’s hobbies include working out, reading, surfing, snowboarding and playing any sports she can get her hands on, especially football, and spending time with her family and friends.
