Olathe West's Brett Seaton upsets Carroll's Rodney Steven for 5A Singles Title

Only a sophomore, Brett Seaton came in an underdog despite winning his regional only a week ago, and pulled off an unlikely upset.

Rodney Steven came in a two time defending state champion, but he fell to Seaton in straight sets, 6-2 6-1, to lose his first match as a senior. He finishes his high school career a two time state champion and with a 17-1 record this season.

For Seaton, his victory is the first in school history at Olathe West--the school opened in the fall of 2017. He finishes his sophomore year with a 29-3 overall record.
