Friday Boys Basketball Games To Watch

Derby (5-2) vs Wichita South boys (4-4) - The last time the Panthers and Titans faced off inside Koch Arena was in 2015. South won 69-62 thanks to a big second half. Derby led at halftime 37-28, but were outscored 43-25 in the final two quarters. The Panthers enter the game with four different players averaging double figures in scoring (Tyler Brown, Bryant Mocaby, Clay Hood, Emilio Valentin). The Titans are led by seniors Remy Lemovou, Cody Silmon, and Deahvian Manning who combined to average nearly 30 points per contest.

Eisenhower (7-0) vs Andover Central boys (5-2) - AVCTL Division II play continues as the Tigers and Jaguars fight to be 'King of the Jungle'. Eisenhower has won eight of the last twelve meetings and three-in-a-row against Central. Dylan Vincent comes in averaging 12.5 points per contest against the Jaguars in his high school career. Andover Central has three players averaging double figures per contest in Braden Belt, Easton Leedom, and Xavier Bell.

Salina Central (6-2) vs Maize boys (5-2)- The Mustangs are currently ranked No. 3 in Class 5A in the KBCA polls and have won the past two games against the Eagles. Maize will be tested facing Central Friday night and turning around to play Wichita Southeast on Saturday in the AVCTL-Challenge.

McPherson (8-1) vs Andale boys (8-0)- Undefeated Andale will face their toughest opponent yet when they hit the floor with the Bullpups. Despite losing to Bishop Miege in December, McPherson is arguably the best boys basketball team west of Overland Park regardless of classification.

Belle Plaine (8-1) vs Cheney boys (9-0)- Two of the top teams in the Central Plains League and Class 3A finally meet. The Dragons have won two games in a row after dropping their first game of the new year to Wichita Trinity.
