Part-time Web Producer

The strength and resources of the number one television station in Kansas are behind the premier website for fans of high school athletics.  We need a dynamic, organized individual who loves sports and can deliver the best high school sports coverage on-line to Kansans.

This part-time CatchItKansas.com Producer will be part of the high-energy team producing content and coverage for more than 175 high schools across the state. Responsibilities could include: enter stats into database, post stories, cover events with video camera and still camera, write coverage stories, and edit video .

Skills in Web, word processing, software programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office and languages such as html, xml and CSS are preferred. Skill in writing and editing for sports is required, and an interest in sports is a must. Demonstrated organizational and time-management skills.

The ideal candidate should:
- Be available immediately.
- Have previous sports writing experience
- Be extremely organized & efficient.
- Be fast, accurate and be able to deal well with deadlines / time pressure.
- Work on-site.

- Be experienced working with video & still photography. Comfortable around a camera.
- Hold a secondary degree with experience in journalism, or working towards your degree. Prior work experience with sports is preferred, but not required.

- Be experienced with AP style.

The CatchItKansas.com Producer must be willing to work a flexible shift with some late evening and weekend work. Will work 28 hours per week.

Freelance Writer/Photographer

CatchItKansas.com, powered by KWCH 12, is looking for more freelance writers and photographers. This is an ideal job for college students who are interested in gaining some valuable writing or photography experience. Not only will you make some extra cash, but you will be working for the premier high school sports website in Kansas.

CatchItKansas.com is looking for freelance writers & photographers to cover high school sports during the 2012-13 sports season.

Responsibilities include covering two or three high school sports competitions a week, interviewing coaches and players, writing and posting stories or photos.

The ideal candidate is/has:

College graduate or currently enrolled in college
Has some college-level journalism course work, or equivalent experience
Strong writing ability
Knowledge of AP style
Deadline driven and detail-oriented
Some sports knowledge
Basic photography skills
Computer/email access
Access to quality camera equipment (photographers only)
